Hello! I'm Dori
My mission is to progress decarbonization efforts in the built environment, transportation, and energy sectors. Constructing a modern, low-emission society is not only attainable but urgent.
As an outdoor enthusiast, I care to protect the natural landscape where I enjoy backpacking and snowboarding. As an engineer, I am familiar with advancements in climate tech and have past experience leading capital improvement projects. I am ready to deploy and scale these solutions to the masses.
Currently, I work at KWH Analytics as an Underwriting Operations Manager supporting team success as we bring innovative insurance solutions to renewable energy.
ABOUT ME
I’ve always enjoyed puzzles and start by asking, “What is the larger picture and how do the constituent pieces fit together?”
In 2016, I received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Studying chemical engineering taught me how to think critically about a process and optimize it to achieve the desired result. My early career began at an engineering consulting firm, working on brownfield capital projects in the energy sector. I performed various roles, including Process Engineer, Cost Estimator, and Project Engineer. I enjoyed being involved in all phases of multi-disciplinary projects.
In 2019, I joined Pinnacle to implement Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Programs in the oil and gas sector. I saw firsthand how data-driven decisions could inform risk strategy and operational activities to lower risk on-site and maintain asset health and site reliability.
In 2021, I received a Master's in Engineering Management from Vanderbilt University, where I learned the business functions of projects and companies. My capstone project focused on the mass timber construction entitlements process.

I currently work at KWH Analytics, a specialty risk underwriting group in the renewable energy insurance market. Insurance as a form of risk transfer seems quite banal, but it's quite interesting! KWH's unique approach and proprietary data models offer an alternative in the market that rewards resiliency.
In my spare time, I enjoy being active, traveling, and volunteering. Broadening my perspective and understanding is important to me, so whether it's picking up a new hobby or hitting the trail for an adventure, thrusting myself into unfamiliar surroundings is something I'm very comfortable with.
I find purpose and satisfaction through problem-solving and creative thinking, like I said, I've always enjoyed puzzles.
